About me and my little studio

The Pottery Shed  - Great Thurlow

Hi! I am Naomi - I am a Mum of four (all teenagers) and during lock down developed a love for painting pottery. It helped me to stay calm, de-stress and whittle away a few hours after work and loose myself in my piece. Pottery painting, I believe helps you to switch off from the hustle and bustle of every day life and is so good for your mental health and well being. From plates to planters I soon shared my love with having friends and family round to join me and soon enough here we are! The studio isn't massive and because of other commitments I can't open the studio for walk-ins everything needs to be booked - if you are reading this thinking this is something you'd like to try today - drop me a message I may well already be in the studio!

I have a small studio in my garden which seats eight people and I have had the pleasure of sharing my studio over the summer with people who are new to painting and creating some beautiful pieces.

I have so much stock - probably too much if you ask my husband - I'm not convinced!

Come and give it a try - even if you think you aren't artistic!

Once painted the pieces are left with me in the studio to dry, then if needed will be clear glazed and then left to dry again before being fired. This process (depending how busy the studio is) tends to be completed in a 10 day turnaround. There is no 'amazon delivery' when it comes to pottery painting! Great things to comes to those who wait!

I'd love to see you and what you create - drop me a message if you have any questions!
